When the Centre de la Photographie Genève approached Nask Studio to revamp its identity for its 30th anniversary, we found an institution rich in content but in need of a visual overhaul. The existing identity was outdated, and the positioning lacked clarity.
We began by assessing the institution’s core values, uncovering ideals of social activism, experimentation, and openness, which became the foundation for the new identity. With these values in place, we redefined the visual elements across communication channels, ensuring graphic design played a central role in positioning the institution.
Our process involved extensive research of cultural institutions, workshops with the client, and deep exploration of typography and graphic design. After numerous presentations, we crafted solutions tailored to the institution’s needs. For the logo, we selected Neuzeit Grotesk, a geometric sans-serif typeface from the 1920s, embodying the experimentation and sophistication that defined the new visual language.
